Karen Young's work is inspired by the light, colors and feelings that surround her.  She enjoys the challenge of capturing these scenes both at home and abroad.  Her plein-air paintings are started with field sketches that are either finished on-site or taken back to her studio to be fine-tuned. Her goal is to capture the atmosphere or soul of her subject and communicate that feeling to the viewer.
