Karen's work is inspired by light, colors and feelings surrounding her.  She enjoys the challenge of capturing scenes both at home and abroad.  Her plein-air paintings are started with field sketches that are either finished on-site or taken back to her studio to be fine-tuned. Her goal is to capture the atmosphere or soul of her subject with as few strokes as possible.
